About the role at Informed Solutions:
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Consulting Services team for a degree educated Technical Consultant with outstanding people skills, technical competence and the highest standards of professionalism. The position is based out of the Company’s Manchester offices, located in Altrincham. Informed Solutions provides a wide range of consulting and professional services such as Management and Strategy Consulting, Systems Integration, and Managed Operations Services.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a high degree of competence in:
- Excellent Client liaison skills, and enthusiasm for collaborative working
- Meticulous attention in detail and quality with tenacity in problem solving
- Strong technical competence with an ability and willingness to embrace new concepts and technologies
- Exposure to the end-to-end system development life cycle
- Understanding of enterprise level solutions and Service Orientated Architecture (SOA)
- Structured approach to software design using best practice Object Orientated (OO) technique and design patterns
- Exposure to web technology development environments
- Ability to use own initiative to successfully deliver projects and work creatively to solve Client issues
Essential attributes:
- Superb interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to work, assess and help advise in situations which may involve a significant degree of uncertainty and potential business risk
- A smart polished and professional appearance, a positive personality, and a “can do” attitude
- Flexibility, enthusiasm and strong self motivation
- Excellent business writing skills, as well as polished document preparation and presentations experience
- Sound professional and personal judgment
- Strong professional discipline - work prioritisation, organisation and time management skills
- Willingness to travel and where appropriate work away from home
- Relevant Technologies (two or more preferred):
- Commercial experience of .Net, ASP, J2EE, JSP
- Experience in the use of dedicated web application MVC frameworks (e.g. Java BluePrints and Apache Struts) and application development using IDEs (e.g. NetBeans, Visual Studio).
- Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Competence in UNIX and Windows operating systems
- Experience of RDBMS
Other Desirable Skills and Experience:
- A proven track record in adhering to best practice
- Experience of working within a disciplined, high calibre, results-orientated professional services organisation
- Knowledge of Project Management (Prince 2) and Service Management (ITIL)
- Exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
