Informed Solutions addresses Youth Leadership Conference

Inspiring future leaders, raising awareness of potential careers and helping increase diversity within the technology sector are causes close to the heart of many at Informed so the team was delighted to be invited to participate in Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School Student Leadership Conference.

The Student Leadership Conference last Friday, 15th February, celebrated the rollout of Star Academies’ R18 Leadership Framework, exploring Civil, Moral and Performance virtues within leadership in order to support the well-rounded, ethical and accomplished leaders of tomorrow.  Lead Consultant Sara Di Domenico and Associate Consultant Annabel Sunnucks were in good company amongst many other inspirational and accomplished speakers, many of whom work closely with Informed’s Global CEO Elizabeth Vega through her work with the Northern Power Women network.

Sara and Annabel led a session alongside Maya Dibley from Lancashire LEP, using examples from their own experiences to help the pupils explore moral values in leadership.  The experience Sara and Annabel have working on and leading high profile projects with our clients allowed them to offer real-world insight into the problems the school’s leaders of tomorrow may face.

Summarising the experience, Sara commented:

Sara Di Domenico speaking at the Leadership Conference
The welcome and hospitality offered by the school and the students were excellent. The pupils were enthusiastic, ambitious and engaging in our sessions and the Leadership Framework is a great initiative. Ensuring pupils have exposure to not only role models but an insight into expectations within the world of work is vital.

Annabel, who is regularly involved in organising Informed’s initiative in skills outreach to schools, said:

Working with schools is something I’m passionate about. This new framework allows pupils to begin developing key skills needed for the workplace such as values-driven leadership and problem-solving: skills most people don’t have the opportunity to develop at this young age.

Both Sara and Annabel have offered to return to the school to explore the topics covered in their session in more depth and also to speak about how careers in technology could work for the students.
