Informed Solutions is proud to announce it has attained ISO/IEC 42001 certification, the world’s pioneering international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS).

Achieving this certification is a key milestone and fulfils a commitment in our AI Charter, which sets the ground rules we follow with our clients, partners, and teams to realise the benefits of AI in an ethical, safe, and responsible way.

Launched as the world’s first AI Management System (AIMS) standard, ISO/IEC 42001 sets a global benchmark for responsible AI practice, providing a comprehensive framework for designing, building, and operating AI systems that are transparent, secure, safe, ethical, and continually improving. Achieving this prestigious certification places Informed among an elite group demonstrating the highest standards of trust, governance, and responsibility in the innovation, development, and deployment of AI technologies.

As defined by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) an AI management system is “a set of interrelated or interacting elements of an organisation intended to establish policies and objectives, as well as processes to achieve those objectives, in relation to the responsible development, provision or use of AI systems.”

The certification covers how Informed delivers safe, ethical, and responsible AI solutions for its clients. This reflects years of delivering high-impact, trust-based innovation across these most complex and safety-critical sectors.

A Significant Milestone for Informed Solutions

Being one of the first organisations to secure ISO 42001 certification underscores our long-standing commitment to trusted innovation and high-impact digital transformation.

This milestone confirms Informed’s role as a global leader in the safe, secure, and value-driven application of AI.

AI That Makes a Real-World Difference

Our certification builds on a strong track record of delivering tested, trusted, and scaled AI solutions that make a meaningful impact, helping clients tackle some of society’s most complex and important challenges, including:

  • NatureScot – where AI enhances environmental intelligence and supports the protection and management of Scotland’s natural environment as well as dynamic monitoring of biodiversity change across the land.
  • Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency – where AI-driven analytics help accelerate the clinical trials process and support the faster delivery of safe and effective treatments.
  • His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services – where we introduced advanced data analytics and AI towards the development of an Early Warning System for Police Force performance nationally.
  • National Health Service – where an AI-enabled Learning from Patient Safety Events platform provides clinicians with actionable insights across 8,000 care settings to improve outcomes and strengthen safety culture across the healthcare system.

All AI deployments follow Informed’s AI Readiness Assessment, a structured, evidence-based way to understand where AI can add value, assess organisational readiness, and build the people, data, and technical capabilities needed for safe and scalable AI adoption.  This approach combines data science, User-Centred Design, and agile delivery to ensure the right ideas can grow into trusted, high-impact solutions.

Setting the Standard for the Future of AI

Achieving ISO/IEC 42001 certification is a strong signal of who we are and how we work. It demonstrates to our clients, partners, and international markets that Informed Solutions is committed to developing AI that is robust, transparent, delivers value and is built on trust.

Tom Weeks, Chief Strategy Officer and Transformation Director, Informed Solutions, said: “This certification is a testament to the passion and perseverance of our brilliant teams who, over many years, have built a trusted reputation for responsible AI innovation and delivery. Achieving ISO 42001 certification recognises not only the strength of how we govern and assure AI delivery, but also the dedication of our people who go above and beyond to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
