Informed Solutions has been selected by the Department for Transport to deliver the zero emission vehicle mandate (ZEV) IT system.

A new two-year £1.2 million contract will see Informed develop a national digital registry to support the ZEV mandate.

The mandate supports the UK’s commitment to achieve net zero by 2050 setting a sustainable trajectory for ending the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans in 2035. All new cars and vans sold after this date will be zero emission.

The new digital system will support administration and regulation of the mandate, which will include tracking progress towards ZEV and CO2 emissions reduction targets. Vehicle manufacturers will need to sell a certain percentage of new zero emission cars and vans each year, with targets increasing annually between 2024 and 2035 to guide the transition to zero emission mobility.

Informed Solutions UK CEO Seth Finegan comments: “We are delighted to have been selected by the Department for Transport to develop the digital system to support the zero emission vehicle mandate.

“We look forward to using specialist expertise digital transformation, transport systems and data to deliver a world class digital registry to support the ZEV mandate and help achieve the UK’s net zero ambitions.”
